The conference venue is the campus of the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP), which offers excellent facilities for high quality scientific interactions. FEUP is located in the town of Porto in the Northern region of Portugal. Porto is a beautiful and lively city, steeped in history and rich in great experiences. With its magnificent location by the Atlantic coast, Porto is the city of the world famous Port Wine and the River Douro.
This conference is held every 2 years. The conference is chaired by Lucas F. M. da Silva (Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, Portugal) and co-chaired by Frank Walther (TU Dortmund University, Germany), Fei Han (North China University of Technology, China), Xichun Luo (University of Strathclyde, UK) and Ricardo Carbas (University of Porto, Portugal). The focus is on engineering manufacture and will include works on additive manufacturing, precision machining, vacuum assisted high pressure die casting, semi-solid metal casting, compressive and tensile forming processes, among many others.
Special topics of interest are:
. modelling and optimization of manufacture processes
. design for manufacturing strategies
. development of new manufacturing technologies
. design of novel manufacturing equipment
. comparative case studies
. cost and quality analysis
. ecological aspects
. destructive and non-destructive testing of manufactured components.
